On Tuesday, December 12, at 7 pm, don’t miss the seasonal favorite showcase of BMC student string ensembles and the Senior Orchestra! All levels of student groups will perform, including the Tiger beginning ensemble class, the Music in the Schools first and second year students, and the BMC Youth string ensemble. Music by the youth ensembles, conducted by Heather Sommerlad, will include pieces by longtime BMC teacher David Tasgal, an original piece written by the students, and works by Thomas Tallis (Archbishop Parker’s Psalter Tune III) and Gustav Holst (the theme from Jupiter).
The evening culminates with a performance by the BMC Senior Orchestra, conducted by Moby Pearson. The Senior Orchestra, made up of intermediate and advanced string players, will perform selections from Corelli’s Concerto Grosso, Schmann’s Widmung, Wasted on the Way by Crosby, Stills and Nash, and Rossini’s William Tell Overture.
The concert will be held at the BMC Auditorium. All are welcome: admission is free, although donations are welcome and support the scholarship fund.
