The brand new BMC Madrigal Singers, a select 10-member ensemble led by Brattleboro resident and award-winning madrigal director Douglas Frank, will present its debut concert at the BMC Sunday, December 17, at 2 pm.
The Singers will celebrate the 70th anniversary of “Christmas in Song,” the wonderfully popular treasury of Christmas songs, hymns and carols first published in 1947. The performance includes holiday tunes and texts from the Middle Ages through the 20th century, featuring beautiful and classic works by beloved and rarely-heard composers – Palestrina, Schütz, Praetorius, Nicolai and more.
Help us welcome this exciting new ensemble, enjoy some of the abundance of vocal talent in our community, and get into the festive holiday spirit. The performance will be followed with a holiday tea. Ticket are $10 (general admission) and $15 (supporter).
