Intro Celtic Class (Youth)

This class will learn tunes in the Celtic tradition with a focus on the common repertoire of our region. Prior experience in learning by ear (or Celtic music) is not necessary: class will be about developing these skills!  Audio recordings will be provided as practice materials.

All instruments welcome – the teacher will demonstrate on fiddle. Students will need a solid playing ability on their own instrument—basic playing technique and the letter names of notes. For example – if you have studied with the Suzuki method and are near the end of book 1, you have sufficient skills.  Not sure? Louisa will happily discuss the appropriateness of the class with interested players. You can also visit the first couple of classes to see what it’s like! Recommended ages 8-11. Older and younger players considered.
