Celtic Music Sessions – Intermediate

Keith Murphy, Becky Tracy
Wednesdays, 7-8 pm
8 weeks: $140/16 weeks: $260

Build your repertoire of traditional jigs and reels, and other dance music of Scotland, Ireland and New England. All music is taught by ear, making this class an excellent opportunity to develop your ear for new tunes.

The class is open to all instruments. In general, the class does not address instrument-specific issues in depth (ie fiddle bowing, flute ornaments, guitar strums) though some of these things get touched on in passing.

Students in this class should have some proficiency with learning by ear and have good technical proficiency on their instrument so that they can focus on the process of learning the melodies. If you are interested in the class but not sure if it is appropriate to your level, we are happy to have you sit in for one class to try it out.
